Vladimir I. Arezina is a partner in the law firm of Patti, Hewitt & Arezina LLC where he practices in the areas of civil litigation and intellectual property law. Mr. Arezina's comprehensive litigation practice includes representing clients in a wide variety of civil litigation including intellectual property matters, contract matters, business disputes, and tort cases in state and federal court. Mr. Arezina's intellectual property practice includes counseling clients on issues relating to patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets. Within these intellectual property areas, Mr. Arezina has significant experience in prosecuting and securing intellectual property protection in the U.S. and abroad, rendering opinions on infringement, invalidity, and freedom to practice, licensing of intellectual property rights, and intellectual property portfolio management.
Mr. Arezina was formerly Intellectual Property Counsel for WMS Gaming Inc., a publicly traded Chicago based casino gaming manufacturer and distributor. Prior to that, Mr. Arezina practiced with a Chicago based intellectual property boutique. Mr. Arezina previously was a litigation attorney with a Virginia firm where his litigation experience included trying over forty trials involving a variety of subject matters.
Mr. Arezina received an LL.M. in Intellectual Property Law and an LL.M. in Information Technology Law from John Marshall Law School in 2002. Mr. Arezina received his J.D. from George Mason University School of Law in 1997, and B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia in 1994. Mr. Arezina is licensed to practice law in Illinois and Virginia, before the Federal District Courts in Illinois (Trial Bar Member in Northern District of Illinois), Virginia, and Indiana, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
