Rachel Rico is a Legal Assistant with Patti, Hewitt & Arezina LLC. She provides administrative assistance for intellectual property matters and civil litigation matters. Ms. Rico assists with the preparation and filing of legal documents, the docketing of domestic and international property prosecution matters, and client correspondence.
Ms. Rico was formerly a Paralegal/Docket Supervisor with Brady, Connolly & Masuda, P.C. in the workers’ compensation and civil litigation practice groups. In the workers’ compensation practice group, she opened and docketed all new files, prepared filing of legal documents, sent correspondence to clients, as well as maintained the daily docket for all venues. Ms. Rico also supervised the office Status Call/Court Filing Clerk. Previously, Ms. Rico was a Docket Clerk/Billing Clerk with the law firms of O’Hagan, Smith & Amundsen, Johnson, Drozdzik, Van Driska & Andros, Ltd., Sweeney & Riman, Ltd., and Ganan & Shapiro, P.C. where Ms. Rico’s responsibilities included attending daily status call to obtain trial dates for attorneys, research at Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission and Circuit Court, filing motions at Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission, Circuit Court, Appellate Court and Federal Court.
Ms. Rico received a certificate from the Spanish Coalition for Jobs, Inc., for successfully completing the Office Technology Training Program in 1991.
