Carmen B. Patti is a partner in the law firm of Patti, Hewitt & Arezina LLC. Mr. Patti’s practice is primarily in the area of intellectual property law. His technical fields of experience include electrical power distribution equipment, printing presses and related control systems, telecommunications, life sciences, and computer software applications.
Mr. Patti formerly was a partner in the intellectual property practice group of a large law firm in Chicago (1998-2001). He previously was a managing intellectual property attorney with Rockwell International Corporation (1982-1996) where he was responsible for intellectual property matters pertaining to Rockwell’s telecommunications and graphic systems operations. Also, Mr. Patti served as Group Patent and Licensing Counsel with Square D Company (1972-1982) and as an adjunct instructor at John Marshall Law School. He is a member of the Licensing Executive Society and the Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago. Prior to practicing law, Mr. Patti was an electrical engineer with Commonwealth Edison Company (1964-1972).
Mr. Patti received his J.D. from John Marshall Law School in 1972, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1964. He is licensed to practice law in the state of Illinois, before the Federal District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and is registered to practice in the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
